Poem – Marriage

It’s different But in a good way It’s hard to explain What do I say

I’m wrong Or he’s right We try to find common ground In order to end the fight

I’m not my best Sometimes neither is he But we love through it It’s how it has to be

No more selfishness No more pride The “I” Has to be set aside

What is this phenomenon What could cause such a change It’s the leaving and cleaving It’s not so strange

It’s different But it’s all good I wouldn’t change us Even if I could

We’re different And we know it’s for the better Marriage changes you It more than changes your letters

It’s hard work If you do it right You won’t give up so easily You’ll try with all your might

We are the Moores Imperfections and all But we’re better together Because united we stand but divided we fall
