Exodus 16:6-8 New Living Translation (NLT) 6 So Moses and Aaron said to all the people of Israel, “By evening you will realize it was the LORD who brought you out of the land of Egypt. 7 In the morning you will see the glory of the LORD, because he has heard your complaints, which are against him, not against us. What have we done that you should complain about us?” 8 Then Moses added, “The LORD will give you meat to eat in the evening and bread to satisfy you in the morning, for he has heard all your complaints against him. What have we done? Yes, your complaints are against the LORD, not against us.”
If you know you’re doing a beneficial work and someone can’t appreciate that, it’s really a reflection of where they are or aren’t in their life. You’re doing fine. They’re the lost ones. And lost people do not need to affect your “found self.”
Any time I do what God wants me to do I have succeeded in that moment. There is no greater accomplishment than doing God’s will. It is our entire purpose.
My success is dependent upon how much of me I choose to give God. If I don’t give my finances then I don’t receive His. If I don’t give my work then I don’t receive His. If I don’t give myself to Him, then I don’t receive my best self from Him.
I love that Moses reiterated that the LORD has heard your complaints against Him. When you do God’s will you get to say that. You get to say, “God has heard you complaining about what I did, which is what He told me to do. He has heard you complaining about Him.”
I want to make sure that I get in and stay completely in God’s will. That way when people complain about what I’ve done, I never have to worry about it. I never have to worry whether it was the right decision. I never have to worry about feelings and emotions about the decision. I never have to wonder about any of that.
When I do God’s will, the rest takes care of itself. Hurt feelings about my decisions to do God’s will are no priority when God’s will is the only priority.
