Have you thanked God? When was the last time you sincerely thanked God for everything or for anything? I get it, we’ve got a lot going on. I get so caught up in my requests sometimes that I blow past a sincere thanksgiving portion of prayer, even though I believe the majority of prayer should be thanksgiving.
When was the last time you offered up a sacrifice to God? I’m not talking about burnt offerings, I’m talking about something intangible. Really, I’m talking about something immeasurable. Something like thanks.
Psalm 50 says we should make thankfulness our sacrifice to God and keep our vows to Him. In fact, it says giving thanks is a sacrifice that truly honors God.
So I’ll ask again, when the last time you sincerely thanked God? And when was the last time you offered up a sacrifice to God? Now, is the time.
Psalm 50:14, 23
Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God, and keep the vows you made to the Most High.
But giving thanks is a sacrifice that truly honors me. If you keep to my path, I will reveal to you the salvation of God.
