Needle in a Haystack
I get so bogged down in the details. I spend time looking for what I think the instructions should have said and miss the main idea. The main idea is usually not the details. The details just support the story. They aren’t the actual story.
Whether we believe it or not, most things are obvious. They are right in front of our face, but we basically ignore it. Sometimes it’s too obvious, so we assume that can’t be it. You know? We want it to be an earth-shattering discovery, and the fact that it isn’t one must mean that’s not what we were looking for.
My question is, how did we get like this? What happened in our lives to make us think that so many things were too good to be true? How did our thought process get so reconditioned? We’ve lost some faith somewhere. We’ve lost some trust at some point. We’ve clearly failed to listen properly.
We think we know what we’re looking for, and it turns out we don’t. Apparently we have no idea, because for some reason we will spend forever looking for the needle in the haystack when the instructions were to bring the whole haystack.
