Love does. It’s just that simple. It does.
Jesus set the perfect example of what love does, because to tell us wasn’t enough. He had to do love. And what He did in love was gave His life for me to show that He loved me. Love does.
I can tell my husband all day, every day that I love him. I can say it all I want to, but at the end of the day, at some point, he’s going to expect me to do love. At some point, saying I love him, isn’t going to be enough. At some point, I’m going to have to sacrifice something to do love.
Love does. My husband does. He does love. He doesn’t tell me he loves me, he does love. He makes the 6-hour trip. He goes to the grocery store to get me soup and medicine. He runs out to get me breakfast and rushes back home so he’s not late for work. He does love.
Love is what you do. Not what you say. And if those things above are considered sacrifices for me, how much greater was what Christ did?
There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. John 15:13 (NLT)
