If there’s one thing I’ve realized, it’s this: your occupation and what you have to do should never get in the way of what you really love to do.
If you’re working so hard or so much that you cannot find the time to visit people, to encourage others, or even to read/write, and that’s what you love to do, then your work is in the way. I know how crazy I sound right now, but I’ve given this a great deal of thought.
Whenever I completely encompass myself in a job or something, and I neglect the things I really love doing, I have been miserable. It might be hard, but you have to find the balance of what you love and what you have to do. If the scales tip more on the what you have to do side, the you’re tipping them more towards your unhappy side.
It’s not easy to change. After all, jobs pay the bills, dreams sometimes are just labors of love. But what’s the price tag on happiness?
