Write about something that is true at first light, false by noon.

At first light we wake up. We’re ready to go. We believe it’s going to be a good day. Who wakes up expecting a bad one? And then, the rain comes. But we don’t let that get us down. We keep on pushing.

But once we pull up to work, what happens? The bottom falls out, because of course, when it rains, it pours. What happened to my “perfect” day?

Now that I’m at work, I can try to be more positive. I will just hold up in my office, if no one can find me, no bad news can either. And just when I think I’m safe from any further disappointments, I find out we don’t get paid until next week! Geez Louise! This good day seemed very true when the sun rose. By noon, I can see it’s a complete and total lie! I’ve been tricked.

For a more positive turn of events, feel free to reverse this story! The lie that today wasn’t going to be a good day has been exposed and everything went well. Maybe it still rained, but the rain washed away the pollen.
