You know, I think there is a time where we all run. We may not realize it, but some part of us is staying away from God before we truly get saved. We’re sinning and feeling bad about it, but continuing to. Maybe we’re sinning and excusing it, we do that a lot. Or maybe we just feel like we’re so out of His will that it’s too late to try to get back in it.
Nothing is more untrue than believing that you’re so gone that even God Almighty can’t bring you back. In fact, I think that is one of the things that hurts God’s feelings most. To believe that a God of grace and mercy couldn’t love you enough to deliver you from that struggle is a slap in the face. If that were the case, then there is no way that God could be God.
We are never out of God’s reach. No matter how far we run. No matter how far down we fall. No matter how bad we stray. God is still there. Ask Jonah, ask Samson, ask David.
God is always there. And He always wants to be. God always wants your attention. And the truth is, He is going to get your attention one way or another, so it’s best that you go ahead and give it.
