As badly as I wanted to wallow in complaints this morning I couldn’t. I really wanted to complain about how I never get to sleep in or how I never feel rested. I don’t even know why I wanted to complain about those things since they never happen for me anyway. I should be used to it by now.
Anyway, as I thought about complaining, God stopped me in my tracks. And I’m so thankful that He did.
He said, “Chanel, you’d have nothing to complain about if you hadn’t woke up this morning.”
And I said, “So I had better not have any complaints because I did wake up.”
Life is a one hit wonder. And if you miss out on this one you’re not getting another.
That’s why it’s important to do the best we can while we can because we cannot get this opportunity at life again.
This reminds me of a famous quote by Mae West:
“You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”
I want my one time to be enough.
I’m reminding myself everyday. I can miss the rim and still make the shot.
