Teaching Goals

Teaching is not for the faint of heart. It’s easy to compare ourselves or even downplay our impact. I think my biggest battle as a teacher has been against perfectionism and feeling the need to prove myself. I’m not the perfect teacher, I’m not even the best teacher.

In this battle, I’ve decided that I do what I do with the understanding that every day God has empowered me to do my best. Teaching isn’t just about subject material, it’s about creating something students will remember forever. It’s about speaking life into people with God-given truth.

My goal for every year that I’m able to teach is to create that one positive thing or memory that students will forever remember. It’s hard. It’s tiring. But it’s always worth it.
