Verse 12: She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.
Marriage is about sacrifice. And we often think that means giving up our favorite things. True, but it’s a little more than that. It’s about giving up yourself. You are the sacrifice when it comes to marriage.
Wives are supposed to bring something desirable everyday, that’s the sacrifice. It’s not so hard to do good, but it is hard to desire to do it on the days that seem never ending.
As I study Proverbs 31 I wonder if I can ever be her. She’s tough. But as I wonder, I realize not being her is going to be harder on my marriage when the time comes. Looking at the alternative, is there any question?
