I thought about the phrase “once and for all” this morning. What a powerful idea, right? That something could happen one time and be for the benefit of all.
There is Someone who is the definition of “once and for all.” His name? Jesus. Jesus came here through a virgin birth once. He lived life as a human being once. He suffered and died once. He was buried and resurrected once.
And what’s the next part of that well-known phrase? “And for all.” Jesus lived, died, and resurrected once, and for all of us. It took Jesus one time for all of us. Why won’t we take the time for Him?
