No Wants

Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

God has been dealing with me and this verse lately. See, normally I read it and think about God providing for my needs. Not necessarily what I want, but what I need, although, God is more than capable to bless me with what I want. I usually think, I shall not be in want of my needs because they will be met by Him.

But lately, I think God has been telling me to dig deeper. The scripture says, “I shall not want.” Today, when I read that I feel like God is saying wants/desires are including in this. As in, I shall not want for anything that God doesn’t want for me or have to want for anything that He does.

I don’t have to be in want for a house or anything if its what God wants for me. If it is, He’ll make it happen.

I shall not be in want for a relationship or anything if it is not what God wants for me. I can hope, of course. It’s always okay to hope, but we shall not be in longing want for what God doesn’t want for us. And certainly, we don’t have to be in longing want for what He does, because if He wants it for us, it will be.
