Kindness

Your kindness will reward you. Your cruelty will destroy you. Aren’t those some powerful words? They’re found in Proverbs 11:17. Or stated this way: your own soul is nourished when you are kind, but you destroy yourself when you are cruel.

Your soul is nourished. Your soul. That’s a big deal. The Bible even says what would it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul (Mark 8:36)… Meaning nothing is worth your soul. And in Proverbs it says kindness nourishes your soul. It nourishes the thing that is priceless.

Kindness is a big deal. So much so that the opposite of it leads to destruction. Kindness nourishes and cruelty destroys.

God has done something unique with mankind. He’s created us so that when we’re kind to others we feel better. He’s created an opportunity that when we give we walk away full. That when we sacrifice, whether it be money or time, the results tend to benefit or bless someone else.

In essence, we’re created so that our best selves focused less on ourselves, benefit others. Do you need nourishment today? Then go be kind.
