God’s anger lasts a moment. And his anger is real. Don’t think that because He’s loving and gracious that his anger is just an empty threat.
The good news is that God’s favor lasts a lifetime! God’s anger towards the Israelites was present at times. But God’s favor and His promises to them were for forever. In God’s love and faithfulness, no matter how angry He gets, He will never take back His promises to His people.
Weeping may last through the night. There may be sadness. There may be hard times. There may be consequences from sin you’re facing right now. But with each new day comes God’s new mercies. Each day is an opportunity to welcome the joy of the Lord. Each day is an opportunity to ask God for forgiveness, and grab hold of His favor and promises.
Psalm 30:5 For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.
