Faith Seed

Matthew 17: 20 “You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”

God has been dealing with me on faith. He’s been pointing out things to me, and He’s been showing me some different things.

I believe it takes faith to assume your daily routine is going to take place. You know, it takes faith to believe you’re going to get up and get going, or to believe your car is going to start, and so forth. It takes faith to believe your daily routine is going to take its natural course. True. But is that taking a leap of faith?

Be real. Faith for those things isn’t the same as hearing God say move or quit your job, and believing in His provision for those things.

What I have to wonder is why is mustard seed size faith good enough for what I believe to be mustard seed size events, but I don’t apply that same mustard seed size faith when the event is the size of a tree?

I believe that sometimes I use faith as an excuse for inaction. Exercised faith is the real thing, not just saying you have faith. Inaction requires nothing, and genuine faith always requires you to do something.

Today, I just needed to remind myself of that.
