God recognizes deliberate faith. He sees the power of faith from a true follower of His. God wants people who are desperate for Him. He wants people to know He is the only hope.
In a world that prides people for their independence and “do it yourself” attitude, most people are only able to see desperation as something to run from. However, when it comes to God, desperation is necessary. We have to be desperate for God. We have to be desperate for His will. We need to be desperate for His control.
Jesus recognized the power of the faith of the people He healed. He could sense the desperation of the woman with the issue of blood. He knew that she knew that if only she could touch Him all would be well. Her faith and her desperation to be saved by Christ was what drew His power out.
Luke 8: 43-46
A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding, and she could find no cure. Coming up behind Jesus, she touched the fringe of his robe. Immediately, the bleeding stopped.
“Who touched me?” Jesus asked.
Everyone denied it, and Peter said, “Master, this whole crowd is pressing up against you.”
But Jesus said, “Someone deliberately touched me, for I felt healing power go out from me.”
