We get success backwards. We make our goals and resolutions and busily work towards them. After deciding what we want to do and how we want to do it after a while we come back and say God please bless these. Thank You.
And sometimes they work out. Sometimes they don’t. Sometimes it works out for the better and sometimes not so much, and vice-versa.
But why do we keep making this mistake when God so obviously tells us how not to?
Proverbs 16:3 Commit your work to the LORD, and then your plans will succeed.
Simple, right? Commit your work to the LORD and then your plans will succeed. Not choose what you want and go for it. Not follow your heart. Not He loves you so He’ll make it happen for you. Commit it to Him.
Commit is synonymous with devote, apply, and pledge. So devote your plans to God. Pledge your work to God. Do it for His glory, not just to add to your story. And He will make your plans succeed.
