Big Time Praying

Hebrews 13:21 (NLT)

21 may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.

That’s a big time prayer. It’s huge. May God, through Jesus Christ, use you. And it’s not only saying that I hope He uses you, but it’s saying that I hope all that is good to God, all that pleases God, is manifested in you.

He is praying that all that you do and all you are is good and pleasing to God. This is a prayer for you that you, in specific, make God happy.

He wants your works to be pleasing, but he wants YOU to be pleasing as well!

That’s humongous!

I pray, and I pray for other people. But I hardly pray like this, to my shame. This is much more than,  “Bless Bob I hope he gets the job.” This is, “Bless Bob with everything he needs, that only you can provide, in order to make you happy with every breath he takes.”

These prayers are the ones that change things. Not saying that all prayers don’t reach God, but these prayers are special.

These prayers are releasing all control, all selfish ambition, and all things to God. It finally puts us on the backburner where we belong when addressing God. In these prayers, we acknowledge pleasing God as our first and foremost goal. Then we pray that everything it takes to please Him, He equip us with, so that all we do is please Him.

Ever wonder how you can please God? Well, by asking Him to make you pleasing.

Let’s pray:

God, you are God and we are not. We pray for the strength to surrender all to you. We acknowledge that we are nothing without you, and everything that is good with and only with you. We glorify you, and we magnify you as God Almighty.

Give us what we need to be pleasing to you, always. Bless us with the ability to want to please you more than anything else. Cast out anything that desires otherwise in us, and fill us with your Holy Spirit.

Help us to not only need you, but to want you.

May you receive all the glory and praise that comes from this change in our prayer life. May your strength and power reside in us to honor you as fully as possible. Thank you Lord. In Jesus’s name we pray, and say hallelujah! Amen.
