Time: Swift Transition

Times flies. Brandon laughs at me because at least every other day, I pause and tell him how fast the time goes. You’d think I was 70 the way I constantly reflect on the time. I say all that to still ask, am I wrong?

Time really doesn’t stand still. Pretty soon all the memories we planned to make will have gone by. The forgiveness we should have extended will have expired. And what we were going to do will likely not get done.

Time will have done what it does, while we will still find ourselves planning to do. Most of the times when I reflect on time I think about what I was just doing last week on that day or last month. In my mind, I can’t believe it’s already been a week or a month or a year. How does time go by so fast?

I didn’t understand it as a kid. I just enjoyed the song. But the older I get, the truer it becomes. “Time is filled with swift transition.” Therefore we’ve got none of it to waste.

The question is, as days go by, am I transitioning to someone better or just along for the ride? For the time being, what am I focused on being? Think about that while you have the time.

Psalm 90:12 Teach us to make the most of our time that we may grow in wisdom.
